Benefit

COMMON BENEFITS

The following are some common Benefits. The GM is free to choose any suitable Benefits.

Alternate Identity
You have an alternate identity, complete with legal paperwork. This is different from a typical alternate identity, which doesn’t necessarily have any special legal status.

Ambidexterity
You are equally adept using either hand, suffering no circumstance penalty for using your off-hand (as you don’t have one).

Cipher (Ranked [5])
Your true history is well hidden, making it difficult to dig up information about you. Investigation or Persuasion checks to gather information concerning you are made at a level of Disadvantage per rank in this Benefit.

Cool (Ranked [5])
You have a certain style and calm method to your actions that might make others nervous around you. Anyone who finds you cool makes checks against you at a level of Disadvantage per rank in this Benefit. This bonus does not apply to people or situations which would not be influenced by your coolness.

Diplomatic Immunity
By dint of your diplomatic status, you cannot be prosecuted for crimes in nations other than your own. All another nation can do is deport you to your home nation.

Gadgets
At the beginning of each day, by taking a short rest you can gain a temporary Technological Feature effect (Supernatural Effect from Technology) that lasts until your next long rest with a hard Lore check in an appropriate trained Lore. If you have the Benefit: Technology Edge, it is an easy Lore check instead.

Guild Member (Ranked [5])
You are a member in good standing of a guild of your choice. You gain a level of Advantage per rank in this Benefit to social interactions when dealing with other guild members or those friendly towards your guild, but also suffer Disadvantage when dealing with members from a rival guild or other enemies of your guild.

Security Clearance
You have access to classified government information, installations, and possibly equipment and personnel.

Status (Ranked [5])
By virtue of birth or achievement, you have special status. Examples include nobility, knight-hood, aristocracy, and so forth. You gain a level of Advantage per rank in this Benefit to some social interactions, but may also suffer Disadvantage in others.

Technology (Ranked [5])
You can gain powers with Technological Effects (Supernatural Effects from Technology), instead of just Extraordinary effects. Add your ranks in Technology to your Tier rank to determine the maximum ranks and modifier ranks you can take in an effect. At the beginning of each day, by taking a short rest you can also gain a temporary Damage 1 effect that lasts until your next long rest with an easy Lore check in an appropriate trained Lore. This Damage 1 effect can have extras and flaws of the same type as long as they cancel each other out. As you gain levels and Ranks in this edge the Damage 1 effect increases in Rank to equal the Ranks in this Edge or your Tier Rank, whichever is lower. You must also select a Maintenance Complication as well. A Maintenance Complication is a Complication that details things you must do to maintain or use your powers, or ways you may temporarily lose them.

Veteran (Ranked [5])
You are a bit of a hero, and those who served with you remember your bravery. You gain a level of Advantage per rank in this Benefit to social interactions when dealing with other veterans or those friendly towards them, but also suffer Disadvantage when dealing with veterans from those you fought, or those unfriendly towards veterans or war.

Wealth (Ranked [5])
You have greater than average wealth or material resources. You gain a level of Advantage per rank in this Benefit to some social interactions, but may also suffer Disadvantage in others. You also gain a level of Advantage per rank in this Benefit to checks when making in game purchases.
